My name is Elisabeth Maria Hadjis, and I'm a fourth-year student at the University of Ottawa. Right now, I'm working towards a Joint Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Political Science. I'm also a CO-OP student, and I'm currently wrapping up my third work term at MD Financial Management.

My time at uOttawa has offered me lots of amazing opportunities, namely the CO-OP Program and an international exchange to London, England. In my placements so far, I've had the chance to work in both public and private sector organizations, focusing on communications, marketing, and client experience roles. While I love all marketing and communications work, I really enjoy copywriting, digital media and journalism, and would love to work in those areas someday.

 

In first year, I discovered social entrepreneurship through a student organization called Enactus. I joined in September of 2016, immediately fell in love with it, and have been an active member ever since. This year, I'm the Vice President of Member Development, the team's HR function. I love working with people and inspiring them to grow professionally and personally; this role is the perfect fit for me!

Outside of school and work, I enjoy travelling, playing tourist in my own city, and adventuring! As a lifestyle writer for uOttawa's Her Campus chapter, I get to do that - and then tell a story about it! I also like taking photos in my free time and building on my photography skills. I love that I'm always learning new things, and there is so much room to challenge myself and grow. The fact that I can practice in my role as the Photography Chair for my sorority, Alpha Phi, is definitely a plus!
